Ardbeg 8 - For Discussion (Committee Release)
Bottled at 50.8%
Cask Type: ex Sherry Cask.
Ardbeg say - Ardbeg 8 Years Old is a big, youthful, deliberately challenging whisky that we think our smoke-loving, insanely committed Committee Members will go wild for.
My tasting notes. 📋
Nose. Sweet Peat, Sea Spray, Veg, Bacon and Lemon.
Palate. Oak, Salt & Pepper, Fruit and BBQ Smoke.
Finish. Oil, Pine Nuts, Seaweed, Ash and Cloves.
My opinion. - This Ardbeg, which is raw and smoky, is for me astonishingly good. Intimidating to some and certainly obnoxious, I feel this Islay whisky offers smells and flavours that are both welcomed and delicious.
Ardbeg 8 - For Discussion is available via www.ardbeg.com RRP: £57.
For me the RRP of £57, is excellent value; however, other sites have it priced above £100, which I believe is excessive, and not even close to what the bottle is worth.
